A Los Angeles-based writer and director, Prasad's produced work includes BEFORE THE RAINS and OCEAN OF PEARLS. Prasad holds an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute and teaches the craft at UCLA Extension and at the University of Michigan. In his spare time, he serves as a programmer for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. Currently, he is putting together a slate of American genre films set in India and is researching SCRIPTING BOLLYWOOD, an exploration of screenwriting in Indian cinema. ON SCREENWRITING is inspired by Robert Bresson's NOTES ON THE CINEMATOGRAPHER and Alexander Mackendrick's ON FILM-MAKING; two great filmmakers who made their notes on the craft available to the world.
